posed to change by statewide petition the rules of the legislature, lowering the number of required votes needed to shut off debate. Despite the fact the legislature, and only the legislature can determine the rules under which they operate, facts are not allowed to get in the way of what the Nebraska Right to Life wants. Be it writing rules of procedure for the legislature or insisting on passing abortion language already struck down by federal courts, facts and reality seldom slow this group and their leadership.
Perhaps the Nebraska Right to Life does represent a majority of Nebraskans on certain issues such as abortion in general - although that could be argued depending on which polling data is used. To say they are the victims of Sen. Chambers and his minority view is not always accurate. The Nebraska Right to Life may have to grow up and accept that at least on some issues, some of the time, they are the minority and as such should learn to accept defeat without whining.
