Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA)called for congressional investigations into what the administration knew of the attacks BEFORE Sept. 11. Overseas papers as well as some in the United States are pointing towards prior knowledge of some terroristic attack on the 11th including reports the U.S. had cracked Bin Ladin's transmission codes. The Atlanta Journal published a poll in which 50% believe the administration had some prior knowledge of the impending attack. Josh Marshall writes in Salon that the Republican National Committee is getting "defensive -- and evasive -- as reporters try to pin down how much President Bush spends on pollsters."... Nebraska native and TV legend Johnny Carson, in an upcoming May 8 Esquire interview: Carson rips FOX for its Super Bowl red-white-and-blue coverage following 9/11: "When you look at the production -- give me a break!" Carson says. "Norman Mailer said something about patriotism being a nice thing, but just ease up a bit... It's nice to live in this country, but ease up!" Carson takes on Bush: "Can you believe this Enron mess? I love how his good friend 'Kenny Boy' suddenly turned into 'Mr. Lay'... Give me a break! It will be a long time before we ever understand what's going on behind that story."...
