Governor Johanns told the Unicameral anything was on the table as far as cuts were concerned. Anything that is, but LB775. Not to digress, but LB775 was passed eons ago, well not passed so much as forced upon the legislature by such political heavy-weight donors as the likes of Con Agra. Suffice to say LB775 has been likened to corporate welfare. Corporations are dear to the governor's heart. Medicaid recipients are not. Put another way, corporations give to campaigns. Medicaid recipients do not.
One way or the other the Unicameral will patch up the bleeding treasury. Unfortunately it would appear likely the budget be unduly balanced on the backs of those who can least afford it.
