POINT OF ORDER  (CONT.)

day. This is the same stock market the administration doesn't want to have in the news before elections next month which explains the war cry cadence coming from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Dropping thousands of bombs on a third rate country keeps people's minds focused on matters other than the stock market and economy. It also redirects campaign issues from the Republican favorite of putting your Social Security money in the stock market to more patriotic issues like war.
Meanwhile, in Nebraska, stores are closing, unemployment is up, farmers and ranchers are looking at federal loans to keep out of bankruptcy and wishing our economy were flat would be a significant improvement.

It is the White House plan to use their slight of hand and redirect our attention from the economy to that of Iraq by making the feeble case of 9/11=Iraq. If successful, according to White House strategists, a typical mid year election loss by the party holding the presidency can be avoided. With the Senate and House under control this train wreck of an administration would be able to push through court nominees, arctic drilling, anti-environmental legislation, more loss of civil liberties, unchecked corporate welfare and a host of other unpalatable notions.

That's their plan. Let's hope American citizens will go to the ballot box next month and dismantle that ill-conceived plan, ballot by ballot.
