POINT OF ORDER  (CONT.)

row. We have a House run by indicted thugs.  We have a president  who believes he has an overwhelming mandate to change America by cutting funding for the poor, taking money out of Social Security, cutting benefits to Medicare, raising the age of eligibility for Social Security while cutting the legs from under the program, praying for miracle cures for the sick instead of researching for those cures, quoting scripture while ignoring science and abolishing the IRS in favor of a 23% national sales tax. Apparently all that is OK with America, at least those who choose not to think of the world beyond their front porch.

I think Kerry ran as good a race as anyone could have. In my opinion he was the best candidate. Could Dean, Gephardt, Edwards, et al have done better? I think not. Kerry well withstood the relentless onslaught of lies and smears from the unbalanced right and the pathetic media. Unheard of amounts of money was raised to unseat an incompetent human being yet it appears in spite of all the effort, toil, sweat and worn shoe leather it was not enough. After all, it was Stalin who said, "It's not how many votes you get, it's who counts the votes."

This nation has changed dramatically for the worse in the last few years. It appears to be headed spiraling downward with no way to stop it.

Nations do not last forever. Nations change, evolve and sometimes disappear or explode. There is no guarantee from God the United States and its experiment in democracy will last forever or even for a few more years.

So, realizing life is too short, one must weigh options.

One option is to take a deep breath and fight the good fight. One must ask then if it's realistic to think much good would come from investing the rest of one's life doing so. Noble to do so, yes. Practical? Perhaps not.

Another option is to say to hell with it and enjoy life somewhere else away from the chaos that will ensue.

They say Costa Rica is a paradise with many American enclaves. There are many American enclaves in Mexico. The Okanagan Valley in British Columbia is another gem on the planet. Canada already reports record numbers of inquiries of Americans wanting to move there since Tuesday's election.

Those are options. Everyone must decide there own course.
