It's not exactly a "do nothing" Congress. After all, Congress did make it easier for corporations to file bankruptcy while making it far more difficult for individuals to do the same. But that's another story. The following is a partial report card on how the Republican senators up for re-election in 2006 have voted so far this year.
Republicans Say NO to Protecting Social Security Benefits: Allen, Burns, Chafee, Ensign, Frist, Hatch, Hutchison, Kyl, Lott, Lugar, Santorum, Talent and Thomas voted against a Resolution rejecting any Social Security plan that "requires deep benefit cuts or a massive increase in debt."
