Bush saw Sheehan as he drove by her on the way to see the backbone of this administration, the fat cat donors, at yet what might have been the billionth fund raiser of this White House, but could not carve out an hour of time from his five week vacation to meet with her.
When Bush left the mother of a dead soldier in clouds of dust speeding by her chair and umbrella on the way to a fundraiser, he showed his true vacuum of compassion. If Cindy Sheehan had given $50,000 he would have given her at least a couple of minutes and a photo op. But all Cindy Sheehan gave was the life of her son.
So Bush and his puppeteers and right wing radio barrage would have you believe Cindy Sheehan is a terrorist, for that is what someone is who does not support our mission in Iraq.
And so once again this president has protected Americans from terrorists. Well, at least protected the lavish donors snaking their way to the Bush outpost from terrorists. The rest of us will have to be content knowing that if the president can manage threats to national security like Cindy Sheehan we can board a plane or enter a subway with no worries at all.
