POINT OF ORDER  (CONT.)

our troops home is an enemy of this nation. Any member of congress that actually votes for anything different from what King George wants doesn't support our troops but rather the enemy terrorists and any such difference of opinion merely hastens the day when terrorists will bring the fight to our shores.

If this were a parliamentary system of government the failed boy prime minister would be sitting on his dude ranch in dusty Crawford, Texas right now counting his non-existent cattle from his non-existent horse. But, alas, it is not a parliamentary government and we are saddled with the worst president in the history of this nation until 2009.

If this were a monarchy, quite possibly the streets would be filled with villagers carrying torches and pitchforks.

The only remedy this constitutional republic has to rid itself of its leader is impeachment. There, I said it. The "I" word. Never before have I ever written the word in this column nor have I advocated the process
.

It is only mentioned here because Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel - not to be confused with our timid Senator Ben Nelson - actually went on national television and suggested impeachment might be an option to open the way to get out of Iraq. Hagel, the Vietnam vet, says we cannot win in Iraq, we are bankrupting our country over this war and most importantly recognizes the American people do not support our being there anymore. All this coming from the mouth of the senator with the highest support percentage of the GOP party position of anyone in the Senate.

We can try to impeach Bill Clinton for extra-marital sex but we cannot try to impeach George W. Bush for squandering our youth, treasury and global respect on a senseless and trumped up war.

And we won't, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't.
