POINT OF ORDER  (CONT.)

each other and achieve collectively what we could not individually. As neighboring nations, we had to do the same.

Kennedy rallied a nation demoralized by the Russian Sputnik orbiting around the earth and beeping at us over the airwaves by challenging the nation as a whole. At a time when our space program was marked by launch pad explosions and having absolutely none of the technology needed to travel to the moon, Kennedy lifted our spirits by declaring we
would send men to the moon and safely back by the end of the decade.

Overnight a nation shook off its mantel of depression, rolled up its sleeves and went to work to solve the technology previously eluding us and once again we believed we could do anything.

It may not be too late to save us from ourselves and our destructive habits when it comes to being caretaker to this marvelous planet. What we need is a leader. Someone who will make us believe in ourselves again and shove aside partisan bickering and lead the world into an era of sustainable energy.

Somehow I fail to see Hillary, Rudy, Fred or Mitt inspiring much from anyone. If ever their was a time this nation needed a leader, someone to inspire us and our children to achieve the greater destiny, it is now. Sadly, if ever there was a time so void of such a leader, it also is now.
