My friend at the Washington Post wondered how long it would take the federal government to pay that $31 billion if it weren't for Bush's Middle East quagmire.
Well, the answer to that question is less than 1 month.
As a nation we are spending 8 billion dollars a week in the Iraq fiasco. Over a trillion dollars will have been flushed down the Iraq sewer system before our troops are home, unless John McCain is president because he said it would suit him if we stayed in Iraq for a hundred years.
For the price of one month of Iraq war all the hospital debt accumulated by uninsured patients could be paid.
Certainly for the price of this entire episode in Iraq this nation could have universal health care for all citizens.
And the beat goes on.
